Effective October 23, 2020, all residential and commercial foreclosures may proceed in the New York State Courts.
Unfortunately, that means that foreclosure sales will be scheduled to begin soon.
If you have a federally-backed mortgage or a Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac mortgage, single-family foreclosures are stayed until December 31, 2020.
But remember, the CARES Act allows forbearance of mortgage payments for up to 360 days to qualified borrowers for COVID-related reasons.
